CALL FOR PAPERS:
MIGRANTS AND REFUGEES IN THE LAW
Historic evolution, current situation and unsolved questions
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in
the Fourth International Conference of
the International
Chair Innocent III, to be held at Universidad Cátolica San Antonio in Murcia, Spain from 12 to 14 December 2018.
The Fourth International Conference is organized by the
Editors-In-Chiefs of the Cátedra Internacional conjunta Inocencio III, Dr. D. Javier Belda Iniesta
[Universidad Católica de Murcia], and Prof.
Matteo Nacci [Pontificia Università Lateranense].
The first International Conference [in the year of the 800th
anniversary of the Fourth Lateran Council and of the English Magna Charta] has
spoken about Innocent III and his time, from the period of absolute papal
monarchy to the Fourth Lateran Council, not only by focusing the point of view
of history, but also by underlining law topics.
The second
International Conference has discussed upon Justice, Mercy and Law [from revenge, to forgiveness in
the History of Law]. Retributive way, forgiveness and mercy are the key-words
of a new idea of Justice, which has to forsake the concept of private revenge
and “revenge for honour” to accomplish its actual aim.
The third
International Conference has considered the justice and the judicial process in the History of law,
from an interdisciplinary point of view: law, comparative law, history,
sociology, historiography and other disciplines have been profoundly involved.
The title of the next Conference is “Migrants and Refugees in the Law.
Historic evolution, current situation and unsolved questions”. The current
situation invites us to analyse and comprehend the phenomenon of the “Human
mobility”, with a serious and intense interdisciplinary approach, that always
has to recognize the central and essential importance of the person. By
investigating on the historic evolution and the current situation, this Conference
aims to understand whether the Migration has to be contemplated as a mere
emergency, or as a possibility for the community.
This International Conference will be divided in three different sessions;
each of them will correspond to three distinct periods: the ancient and
medieval period [The migration in the
ancient and the medieval history. Historical approach to human mobility];
the modern period [Nation, State,
Revolution. The situation of the migrants and the refugees from the origin of
the modern State] the post-modern
period [Between emergency and
ordinariness. Proposals for the enhancement of a constant phenomenon in the
contemporary age].
